How to get the PM SVANidhi Loan of ₹50000?

Commonly known as thelewala, rehriwala, theliphadwala, hawkers, street vendors, and so on, they play an important role in our urban informal economy throughout the country. They supply the products, which include fruits, vegetables, stationery, footwear, clothing, textiles, artisan goods, household goods, ready-to-eat food, and so on. These vendors are the backbone of many bustling city markets, providing affordable goods and services to millions of people daily. However, despite their important role in the economy, many of them lack access to formal credit, limiting their ability to grow or stabilise their businesses.

In 2020, the Indian government introduced the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme to assist the crucial sector of street vendors in the economy. Eligible street vendors can receive a ₹10,000 loan without collateral under this scheme, with subsequent loans of ₹20,000 and ₹50,000 with a 7% interest subsidy. The objective of this scheme is to expand India’s digital footprint by incentivising street vendors to use digital transactions. A cashback of up to ₹100 per month is available to street vendors in order to encourage online transactions.
